JUNIOR PENETRATION TESTER
Position Overview:
As a Junior Penetration Tester at Sentry, you will assist in delivering high-quality penetration testing and security assessment services in line with our established methodologies and client objectives. You will work under the supervision of Senior Security Consultants, contributing to a variety of client engagements that demand a strong technical foundation, excellent documentation skills, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Application Penetration Testing (APT),with External Infrastructure Penetration Test (EPT) based on Sentry’s internal methodologies and the individual objectives of each client/project.
- Maintain detailed, accurate testing notes for each engagement.
- Document findings and vulnerabilities in line with Sentry’s report-writing standards.
- Produce technically sound, accurate, and timely deliverables including test reports, communication logs, and project updates.
- Attend and participate in client kick-off meetings (with support from senior team members as needed).
- Communicate findings and project updates to clients in a clear, professional manner.
- Review and provide feedback on client remediation efforts.
- Identify and escalate client or engagement-related issues to your supervisor.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security threats, tools, testing techniques, and industry standards.
- Develop an understanding of clients’ business environments and risk management approaches in the context of relevant security frameworks and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Foundational knowledge of application and network security principles
- Understanding of common penetration testing tools and methodologies
- Strong written and verbal communication English skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
- Enthusiastic about learning and professional development
- Familiarity with frameworks such as OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, etc.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Burp Suite Certified Practitioner, OSCP, eJPT)
- Active involvement in research and development (R&D) initiatives.
